Unity - hearts

Unity has a challenge going on right now and the theme is HEARTS.  I've purchased some really cute stamps from them recently, but I'm having trouble finding the time to get them all inked up!   One set I just received
was "Spotted Owl Soup".  It's got some really fun stamps... Here is a birthday card I made with it: 

Snow day

It seems like the weather should be getting warmer and spring should be fast approaching, but this week we got snow!!! We usually don't get too much snow so we really enjoy it when we do!! (=   Here are a couple pictures!

I used Kraft Cardstock and the background doily was cut using my Silhouette machine!  I added a few cute butterflies using my MS punch.  This sentiment is also included with this image! TFL! (=

Oh, am I starting to have fun with my Silhouette machine!!  It is just so cool!!! (=  I really only know how to do the very basics, but look what you can do!  Love this sweet bird image. 

This would make a nice Mothers Day gift!  Don't ya think?

My Kitty

Today was a really tough day for me.  My Cat I've had for almost 17 years started to decline very quickly over the weekened.  It was clear by today that I would probally have to put her down.  I knew it was the best thing for her, but it was REALLY hard to do.  Here are some pictures of her and the family...

Metal stamping

I made this necklace for a friend this last weekened.  I saw these popping up years ago when my youngest was just a baby and had to have one!  This led me to buying my own set of metal stamping tools... (=   How many hobbies can a girl have??  (=

Pom Pom flowers

I've seen a lot of projects with pom poms...  I think they are so cute!  So here is a fun little pom pom project.  There are lots of online tutorials on how to make these.  I made these by just stringing the yarn around my fingers. I glued them to some paper wire and added them to a vase.  Easy, cute and fun!! (=

Faux silver necklace

Here is a fun and cute project I saw over at Smile Monsters.  You should definitly check out that awesome blog! 

Its a faux metal heart necklace.  The recipe she used to make her necklace was:

1 cup flour

1/2 cup salt

1/2 cup water

Yep, that was it!  However when I went to whip it together I realized I was out of salt, but being a crafter I did have some old clay laying around in my closet!  So I rolled out a small piece of clay and shaped it into a heart.  Baked it and here's how to get the look of metal:

Rust-oleum Metallic finish!  Pretty cool huh? (=

Project Life

I've seen this Project Life popping up on some blogs recently and thought it might be a good way to get some photos off the computer and into a book!!   There are lots of fun page protectors with room for pictures and jounaling cards!!   There are dividers for each month of the year.  I just printed off lots of Jan. pics.  Hoping this will get me motivated to get my pictures in a book! 

BLD Challenge #4

It's a Color Challenge this week at By LORi Designs.  The colors are Real Red, Soft Sky, Baja Breeze and Pear Pizazz.  The great thing about these challenges is that I put colors together that I might not think of using on my own.  Here is my card using Hannah Lollipop:

Welcome sign

I participated in a really Great local winter Bazaar this year.  It ran for 6 weeks and had fabulous hand crafted products.  I just found out that they will be hosting a spring bazaar as well and I'm very excited.  I'll be doing more signs as they seem to do very well.  Here is a new one I just did.

January Mosaic

Here is my January monthly mosaic.  I started doing this last January and had a lot of fun with it! I was able to make prints of every month last year and put it into a 12x12 spiral book.   GREAT to look back on!! I really love photos although I didn't take too many this month. I was still able to come up with enough! (=
